Recent Viewing of a Movie...

God's Not Dead....recent movie that came out in theaters in the past month or two. A few famous celebrities in this movie, but no one considered a big name actor...Dean Cain, Kevin Sorbo, Willie Robertson (Duck Commander/Caller maker), and a few others. Mom and I saw this movie yesterday. There was a main theme to the movie that has been in the "news" but not in mainstream news because these stories don't increase ratings. Numerous court cases about this theme throughout the last ten years mainly with college students standing up for what they believe in....which, honestly, they have a right to stand up for what they believe in because the "recent standings" are ridiculous. Forcing an individual to make a statement as an assignment that goes against the belief system of said individual is illegal and so not cool. Yes, I know these two endings are not comparable but that is how I feel. Forcing the beliefs upon a professor's students by the professor takes place a lot more than people realize. Anyway, back to my original thoughts about this movie. I am glad I saw this movie. I supported many of the the ideas in my belief system and vindicated my though process relating to various situations. I am not ashamed of my relationship with God and yes he is my friend. One of themes in the movie was God does exist no matter how many people try to deny or disprove this fact. The characters in the movie are connected in some form or another which becomes obvious towards the end. One of the characters experiences the same cancer diagnosis I received a few years back. To be told you have cancer is crazy. The story line thread made me well up with emotions because I truly empathized with this character. I am proud and happy to say GOD IS DEFINITELY NOT DEAD and I am a living example of that phrase. Without him we are nothing. One of the quotes from the movie is a big deal to me.....the college student says to his professor (toward the end of the movie) "Do you hate God?", after a bit of silence the professor yells out "Yes, I hate God!" and calmly the college students responds "How do you hate something that does not exist!" Checkmate! If you have not seen this movie, please go see it. http://godsnotdeadthemovie.com/

Until next time...
